Demon golfers take 12th place in Delta Invitational Tournament

The Glenwood Springs High School golf team only sent three players to Devil’s Thumb Golf Course to compete in the Delta Invitational, but the trio held its own.

Playing in a tough, 19-team field filled with Class 5A squads, the 4A Demons took 12th with an overall score of 262.

Michael Braklow turned in the lowest scoring, shooting an 82 on the par-72 course. Jason Whiting came in one stroke behind Braklow with an 83 and Kelby Artez rounded out the Demons’ scoring, carding a 97.



Individual placements were unavailable.

Glenwood will next compete in the Roaring Fork Invitational on Tuesday at River Valley Ranch. Rifle, Coal Ridge and Grand Valley, as well as the host Rams, will also be competing in the tournament.
