Demons, Cards set hoop game times

The playoff game times for the Class 4A state tournament, as well as the Class 2A West Regional Tournament, have been announced.

The Glenwood Springs girls, who will be paired up against Longmont for a Sweet 16 showdown, will play at 5:15 p.m. on Friday at Broomfield High School. The Colorado High School Activities Association has set ticket prices for the Sweet 16 games to be $8 for adults and $7 for students/seniors.

If the Demons win, they will take on the winner of Friday’s Broomfield-Pueblo County contest on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Broomfield High School in the Great Eight.

In the 2A West Regional Tournament, both the Grand Valley girls and boys basketball teams will be playing Mancos in the first round at Grand Junction High School on Saturday. The girls will play at 1:30 p.m. and the boys will follow at 3:15 p.m.

If the Cardinals win, they will advance to the state tournament in Pueblo.

The Coal Ridge boys basketball team will play against Strasburg in the first round of regionals at Faith Christian High School at 8 p.m. on Friday night. A story in Monday’s Post Independent incorrectly said it was at 7 p.m.
