AURORA, Colorado – A second Class 3A football state title in three years wasn’t in the cards for Glenwood Springs, which suffered a 29-6 defeat to Elizabeth at Legacy Stadium in Aurora on Saturday.

Behind 162 yards and two touchdowns from Matt Biery, the top-seeded Cardinals won the school’s first-ever football title. They finished the season with a perfect, 14-0 record.

Luke Jacob’s 104 yards on 17 carries led the way for Glenwood, which won the 3A title back in 2008. The Demons wrapped 2010 with a 12-2 record.
