BERTHOUD, Colorado ” Glenwood Springs matched up against a team much like itself on Saturday and got the upper hand.

Behind 582 yards of offense, the Demons churned out a 50-39 win at Berthoud in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A state football playoffs.

The win vaults Glenwood, now 12-0, into the state semifinals against 11-1 Mountain View, a team the Demons will host next Saturday at Stubler Memorial Field. Kickoff is tentatively set for 1 p.m.

Like Glenwood, Berthoud has an affinity for throwing the football and the quarterbacks’ stat lines certainly reflected as much.

The Demons’ Dakota Stonehouse tossed for 358 yards on 21-of-28 passing and the Spartans’ Jordan Major struck for 317 yards in the air of 27-of-38 passing on a day littered with offensive fireworks in Berthoud.
