Flag football leagues now forming in New Castle

The New Castle Recreation Department is accepting registration for flag football leagues for boys and girls in third and fourth grades, with adults beginning play in early September.

Youth flag football is coed, and includes 1-2 practices a week, with league games against other local teams. The format is 5 on 5 non-contact, with the focus on skill development, teamwork and fun. Registration is $50.00 before Aug. 30, and includes a T-shirt.

The adult league is also coed, and is a 5 on 5 non-contact program league patterned after the popular NFL Flag Football program.

League play is scheduled for Wednesday evenings and the team registration fee is $150 by August 28.

Registration can be done by phone at 970-984-3352, or online at http://www.newcastlerec.com.
