Game times set for Coal Ridge, Grand Valley, Roaring Fork girls soccer

The games times for the first round soccer games of the Class 3A state playoffs have been set for the Coal Ridge, Grand Valley and Roaring Fork high school girls soccer teams.

Roaring Fork (12-2-1), the 20th-seeded team in the 32-team tournament, will open at 4 p.m. Friday against No. 13 seed Kent Denver (8-5-1). The game will be played at Peak to Peak High School in Layfaette, with the winner moving into Saturday’s second round against the winner of Friday’s other first-round game at Peak to Peak between the tournament’s fourth-seeded team, The Academy (13-1-1) and No. 29 Alexander Dawson (7-5-1). The second-round game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.

A little closer to home, sixth-seeded Coal Ridge (14-1-1) will host the first and second rounds at The Pasture. The Titans will open against The Pinnacle (12-3-0), the No. 27 seed in the tournament, at 6 p.m. Friday.

Prior to the game that features the 3A Western Slope League’s champion will be the league runner-up. Eleventh-seeded Grand Valley (13-2-0, winners of its last 12 games, will play No. 22 Front Range Christian (9-3-3) at 4 p.m. at The Pasture.

Winners will play each other on Saturday in the second round. According to Coal Ridge administrators, the game will be played at 4 p.m. Saturday if the second-round contest involves Grand Valley and Coal Ridge. If it involves any other combination of teams, the game will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday.
