Glenwood falls to Palisade, 74-57

PALISADE ” Ryan Farlow had a career-high 29 points with 14 rebounds to lead the host Bulldogs to a 74-57 win over Glenwood Springs in a Western Slope League boys basketball game here Saturday.

The loss, Glenwood’s third in its last four games, drops the Demons’ final regular-season mark to 5-7 in the WSL and 8-11 overall.

Glenwood started the game with a 8-5 lead midway into the first quarter before Farlow broke loose.



The senior scored the game’s next 11 points in Palisade’s 15-0 run as it went up 20-8 heading into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 34-20 at halftime, then put the contest away early by outscoring the Demons 40-37 in the second half.



Junior Sean Flohr led the Demons with 24 points, which included two three-pointers. Flohr’s younger brother, Michael, a freshman, followed with nine.

Farlow’s teammate, Michael Embrey, also finished the game in double figures with 21 points.

Glenwood and seven other WSL teams along with Montezuma-Cortez and Montrose from the Southwestern League begin play in the Class 4A District 6 tournament on Thursday.

The Demons finished fifth in league and will be the No. 6 seed at districts. By agreement between school athletic directors, Cortez, which complied a 6-4 record in the SWL, and Montrose, which finished the league season at 2-8, are the Nos. 2 and 5 seeded teams, respectively.
