Glenwood girls golf finishes second at RVR
Hosting the Glenwood Springs Girls Golf Championships at River Valley Ranch Monday morning, the Demons’ girls golf team finished second to the Grand Junction Tigers despite tying with identical team scores of 278. The Demons lost to the Tigers on the scorecard tiebreaker.
Individually, Grand Junction’s Brittlynn O’Dell won the tournament, shooting a round of 74, while Rifle’s Masi Smith finished second with a round of 75. Glenwood’s Lisa Kelley placed third with a round of 76 to close out the top 3.
For the Demons, following behind Kelley’s 76 was Maddie Riley with a round of 99, Maggie Friemel with a round of 103, Emma Price with a round of 126, and Katelyn Brennan with a round of 135. Rifle’s Breanna Seay shot a round of 104, while Caroline Hays and Ashley Jewell shot rounds of 111 and 154 to help the Bears finish with a team score of 290.
The Coal Ridge Titans also made the trip to RVR and shot a 338 as a team, as Jaelyn Price led the Titans with a round of 108. Grace Gonzalez shot a 114, while Isabelle Brintnall and Sterling Brintnall shot rounds of 117 and 116, and Kallie Bumgardner shot a round of 119.
