It wasn’t the best of volleyball seasons for Glenwood Springs or Rifle, but both had representation on the All-4A Western Slope League team.

Glenwood Springs senior Toni Gottschalck, who helped the Demons to a surprising run at the district tournament, was voted onto the first team by league coaches.

Gottschalck and Glenwood finished the regular season 4-15 overall, grabbing the league’s final district-qualifying spot. At districts, the Demons fell a win shy of advancing to regionals.

Making the all-league honorable mention list from Glenwood Springs was senior Kelly Lawson.

Rifle’s Morgan Patrick and Sandy Samson were also honorable-mention selections.

Samson and Patrick were part of a Bear team that won its first league games in five years and finished 7-12 overall.
