The Glenwood Springs boys soccer team rebounded well after their first loss of the season, winning a pair of Class 4A Western Slope games and only giving up a pair of goals.On Thursday the Demons, who lost their first game of the season last Saturday against Battle Mountain, shut out Eagle Valley 3-0. Glenwood kept rolling Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Moffat County.Pat Shepard got Glenwood on the board early Saturday, beating the Moffat keeper on a breakaway for a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the contest. Moffat evened the score just before halftime on a goal from Miguel Martinez, but the Demons took control in the second half.Angel Garcia netted a laser from beyond the 18 off a corner kick from Taylor Wilde midway through the frame and Connor Frey provided a little clean up after a Wilde header rebounded off the crossbar for a 3-1 advantage 70 minutes into the game. In Thursday’s game against Eagle Valley Shepard led the charge with two assists – one to Frey and another to Adrian Castillo off a corner kick. Cory McGrath wrapped up the scoring when he netted a beautiful cross from Zack Stepp.Glenwood improves to 4-1-1 in league play (5-1-1 overall).
