Glenwood Springs Elks Hoop Shoot crowns local champions

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Jordan De Crow won the girls 10- and 11-year-old division, making 18 of 25 free throws at Saturday’s Elks Hoop Shoot.

The mark, which reflected a shooting percentage of 72, was the top score of any age group at the Elks Lodge’s annual youth free-throw contest, held at Glenwood Springs Middle School.

Mason Yellico won the boys 10-11 division, hitting 11 of 25 shots. The 8-9 boys winner was George Crowder, draining 5 of 25, and the girls winner was Sydney Scarrow, who hit 15 of 25.

In the 12-13 division, first place went to Jonathan Disberger (17-for-25). The girls 12-13 division winner was Delaney Gaddis (16-for-25).

All participants received an Elks basketball and a certificate of participation, while winners took home trophies and will advance to the district competition in Leadville on Jan. 31.
