Glenwood Springs harriers to run at home meet

Staff Report
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” After nearly a month of hoofing courses elsewhere, Glenwood Springs’ cross-country runners don’t have to hop on the bus to compete Saturday.

The Demons will welcome more than 10 schools to town for their annual home meet, which will take place on parts of the river trail behind the high school. Visiting runners will be treated to an almost-exclusively soft-surface course, with dirt, rock and grass to run on and just 200 meters of pavement to contend with.

All Garfield County schools with cross-country teams ” Rifle, Coal Ridge and Grand Valley ” will be on hand for the morning event, which starts with a middle-school race at 9 a.m. and concludes with the boys varsity competition at 11:30 a.m.
