Glenwood wrestlers win in Steamboat
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Glenwood Springs High School’s wrestling team posted a pair of dual-meet victories on Tuesday, posting a 53-21 victory against Eagle Valley to go with a 45-27 win against the host Sailors.
The Demons, coming off of a second-place finish at the Rumble in the Rockies dual tournament this past Saturday, had four weight classes (152, 170, 195 and 220 pounds) where their wrestlers went unbeaten. Among them was Glenwood sophomore Myles Wilson at 152, who pinned opponents Hayden Johnson of Steamboat in 2 minutes, 52 seconds, and Justin Morrison of Eagle Valley in 1:37. Also winning two matches was Cristian Gonzalez (195), Jose Diaz at 170 pounds and Irvin Vazquez at 220.
Glenwood Springs will be back in action next on Feb. 3 when the Demons host a dual meet against Coal Ridge.
