Glenwood’s Avery, Halsch tabbed all-league for lax

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Senior Dru Avery and sophomore Drew Halsch recently became Glenwood Springs High School’s first all-league boys lacrosse performers.

The newly minted All-Mountain League first-teamers helped the Demons to a 3-11 record in their first season at the varsity level. Avery made the team as an attacker, while Halsch earned his way on as a midfielder. Glenwood attacker Cole Kloster, a junior, made the second team.

Steamboat Springs coach Bob Hiester, whose Sailors won the Mountain League with a 13-0 record in the regular season, was named the circuit’s coach of the year.
