Grand Valley suffers first league loss

RANGELY – The visiting Grand Valley Cardinals lost their first conference game of the season to the host Rangely Panthers here Friday night 27-0.

Nick Babler, a senior transfer from Rifle High School, led all Cardinal rushers with 60 yards in 21 carries. Receiver Jeremy Quick pulled down two passes for 67 yards, including a 42-yard gain in the shutout loss.

Quarterback Chris Brundle connected on 5-of-9 passes for 86 yards and was intercepted twice. Rangely returned both interceptions into touchdowns.



Grand Valley (3-2 overall, 2-1 WSC) has a home game scheduled next Friday with Hayden.
