Staff Report

PALISADE – Victor Osorio scored two goals and Derek Weller added a goal and two assists to pace Glenwood Springs to a 5-1 win over Palisade in a Class 4A Western Slope League game for both teams on Saturday.

The victory moved the Demons to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league.

Osorio, a sophomore, scored the game’s first goal in the 18th minute off an assist by Pat Sheppard.

Osorio added his second goal – the fourth by the Demons – with 20 minutes left in the second half.

Dylan Brown and Sheppard scored later in the first half to raise Glenwood’s lead to 3-0 at halftime. Weller assisted on both Demon goals.

Weller tallied Glenwood’s fifth goal in the 70th minute.

Saturday’s contest featured the return of Demon goalkeeper Thais Kulwick back to action. Before the Palisade match, Kulwick was recovering from a wrist injury suffered earlier this season.

Kulwick had six saves.

Glenwood concludes their three-game road trip this week with games at Moffat County on Tuesday and at Steamboat on Thursday.
