The Glenwood Springs High School cheerleaders finished tenth out of a field of 50 teams competing in Medium Varsity Non-Tumbling at the National High School Championships over the weekend, the highest place the school has ever achieved at the competition.

“These girls deserve huge recognition,” coach Jody Jordan said. “They have been putting in about 15 hours of practice weekly along with cheering at games since August.

“Kate and I are extremely proud of the leadership on the team,” she added. “The four seniors have shown the young girls on the team how to work hard toward a goal and when they put in the effort and time it really pays off.”
