Hartmann, Garling win three events

Kurt Hartmann and Tory Garling won three events to lead all competitors at the Hershey Track Meet held Wednesday at Stubler Memorial Field.

Hartmann took top honors in the 11- to 12-year-old boys long jump, 100-meter dash and 200 dash. Garling was first in the 13-14 boys division in the softball throw, long jump and 800.

Ryan Galves was a double-winner in the 9-10 boys, earning first-place finishes in the 200 and 400.

Natalie Whitmore took two events in the 11-12 girls division, with victories in the 100 and 200, while Connor Adams and Allison Brown both won a pair of events in the 9-10 girls. Adams won the long jump and 50 dash, while Brown took honors in the 100 and 400.

The event drew roughly 55 participants. The top finishers advance to the state meet in Denver on June 28.
