The Ice Queens swept Aspen in a home-and-home series last weekend.

On Sunday evening, Jennifer Chavez packed the stands with fans and racked up three goals in front of five family members who braved the chilly evening at the Community Center.

Glenwood outshot Aspen by a 31-14 margin, with goalie Carol Bruno stopping every Motherpucker salvo for the shutout.

Along with Chavez, team captain Shelley Binkley notched her first goal of the season with a shot from the point, while Liz Kulwiec and Erin Ray also posted goals.

On Saturday night at the Aspen Ice Garden, Amanda Stephens scored two goals and added an assist, and Susie Demers netted a pair of goals to pace the Ice Queens.

Kulwiec chipped in a goal and an assist and Carolyn Strautman also scored. Ray, Chavez and Jeanne Golay all got into the book with assists.

Glenwood has a 6 p.m. game Sunday at the Glenwood Springs Community Center ice rink against the Cliffhangers out of Westminster.
