Injured Demon, Ram QBs expected to suit up Friday

Glenwood Springs quarterback Dakota Stonehouse and Roaring Fork quarterback Kade Gianinetti will be back on the field, directing their respective offenses on Friday night.Stonehouse, who was injured in the closing seconds of Friday’s 30-27 loss to Battle Mountain, is expected to be suited up on Friday, according to Glenwood athletic trainer Marni Barton. The sophomore QB was sore from a hard hit to the back between his pads, but Barton thought he would be able to play in Friday’s game at Palisade.Gianinetti, who broke a few ribs and suffered a collapsed lung after a hard hit in Roaring Fork’s season opener on Sept. 1 against Glenwood, will be getting the start on Friday night when the Rams host Gunnison, according to Roaring Fork QB coach Steve Kinney.Kinney also reported that Ram running back Jeremy Fietze will be out for the season due to a knee injury sustained in Roaring Fork’s 35-0 win over Aspen on Friday. Fietze rushed for 69 yards on five carries before leaving the game.
