Julich sits at second in Tour of Germany

Through three stages, Bobby Julich and his Team CSC teammates are dominating the Tour of Germany.Julich, a Glenwood Springs High School graduate, sits in second place behind fellow CSC rider and defending champion Jens Voigt, who is currently in possession of the race’s yellow jersey, a second ahead of Julich and four other CSC teammates – Alexandr Kolobnew, Andy Schleck, Chris Sorenson and Volodymir Gustov. The Tour of Germany kicked off Friday and wraps up Aug. 18.Julich, who was left off CSC’s Tour de France roster earlier this summer, is reportedly close to signing a one-year contract extension with the team. The 35-year-old received the offer on the same day he was notified he’d be left off the Tour roster. An official decision by Julich on the extension is expected this week.
