Local Sports Briefs: DeCrow, Strobel play in all-state softball game

Jordan DeCrow of Glenwood Springs High School played this past weekend in the 28th-annual Class 3A Senior All-State Softball Games in Broomfield.

DeCrow, a senior at Glenwood who played softball at Basalt High School, joined Bailey Strobel of Basalt in playing at the games. DeCrow finished 1-for-2 batting with a walk and a run scored, and Strobel finished 1-for-3 batting.

Both girls played for the Red Team, which defeated the White Team 5-4.

The game was put on by the Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports and played at the Christopher Fields Complex. Both girls also played on a Basalt team that went 14-8 and made its second consecutive trip to the Class 3A State Championships.

Coal Ridge, Rifle seeks pole vault coach

The Rifle and Coal Ridge high school athletic departments are seeking a pole vault coach to share his coaching duties with both track and field programs in the spring. This position will provide expertise in coaching pole vaulting to help our students be safe and successful in participating.
