Longhorns avenge loss to Roaring Fork
The Roaring Fork soccer team’s second game in four days against Basalt had a different outcome.
Angered by the Rams stunning upset on Tuesday, Basalt came out determined not to lose it’s homecoming game on Saturday.
Cy Eaton scored his second goal and broke a 1-1 tie in the 43rd minute to lead the Longhorns to a 4-1 Western Slope League win.
After scoring the ‘Horns first two goals, Eaton turned the scoring chores over to teammates Brady Kahn and Spencer Cleveland for the remainder of the second half.
Both players had goals for Basalt, who lifted it’s record to 7-1 in the WSL and 9-3 overall. The loss dropped Roaring Fork to 1-6 and 2-9.
Jason Ibanez scored Roaring Fork’s only goal in the first half.
The two teams each have three games left to play in the regular season. Both finish their 2002 home schedule on Tuesday.
The Longhorns face Paonia while Roaring Fork has a night game on tap with Aspen.
