Mullen eliminates Bears with 7-0 win
DENVER – A five-hour delay in the game’s start time due to snow didn’t slow down the Mullen offense.
Mullen, the No. 1 seed in the girls soccer Class 4A State Tournament, downed No. 16-seed Rifle 7-0 in the first round at Mullen High School Saturday.
The victory extends the Mustangs’ shutout streak to five games.
Kendra Chandhoke paced the Mustangs with two goals as Mullen jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first half of play to put the game out of reach.
Rifle ends its season with a record of 10-5-2, while Mullen (13-3) advances to play eighth-seed Longmont in the next round. Longmont defeated Golden 3-0 in the first round.
