New and improved Two Rivers Run on tap Saturday

The Glenwood Two Rivers Run, an all-ages 5-kilometer charity race benefiting the public schools in the Roaring Fork Valley, is set for 9 a.m. Saturday along the Roaring Fork River.The rejuvenated fund-raiser race has a new name and a new course, including a 2.5-mile cross country portion. The race has grown from a citizens and coaches fun run to a public race in support of the Roaring Fork Public Education Foundation.”Come out and have fun and explore Glenwood’s new soft trail,” race director Joe Mollica said. It is the third race in the four-race Property Shop Glenwood Charity Race Series. Runners who complete three of the four races in the series receive a finisher medal at the final race of the series and will be eligible for a raffle entry for a Fitness Treadmill donated from Healthstyles, or three nights at Red Mountain Adventure Spa, or a weekend condo in Moab. The final race of the series is the Glenwood Canyon Shuffle on Oct. 9.Race entry forms are available at American National Bank locations in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Aspen and Eagle/Vail valley, at Summit Canyon Mountaineering in Glenwood Springs, Java Joe’s Coffee Bar in Carbondale, Bristlecone Mountain Sports in Basalt and Ute Mountaineer in Aspen.Pre-registration is $25. The race starts and ends at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs. Race day registration starts at 8 a.m. for $30.
