The Mount Sopris Nordic Council will host its 21st annual Mountain Sports Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) gym. The sale benefits the cross-country ski-trail network at Spring Gulch outside of Carbondale. Nine commercial vendors as well as many individuals will have ski and other gear on sale.

CRMS is located at 1493 County Road 106, one mile west of the Highway 133 traffic light.

For those looking to sell gear, equipment check-in is from 4-7 p.m. Friday, and check-out is from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday. Any unclaimed equipment or money left after 3 p.m. Saturday will become the property of the Nordic Council.

The early-season deadline for purchasing an Aspen/Snowmass season pass is Nov. 10. Purchasers can also by a Locals’ Clinic pass for unlimited clinics. Locals’ clinics cover it all, from learning to ski, snowboard or telemark to hitting the bumps and steeps and hiking Highland Bowl.

Rifle Snowmobile Club will have a swap meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a pig roast at noon Saturday, Nov. 18, at the old Ben Rex parking lot (next to City Market in Rifle).

The Colorado Snowmobile Association raffle sled, a 2007 Arctic Cat M-6, to be given away Dec. 23, will be on display. This event is for everyone.

The next club meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Pruett and Associates Realtors.
