Prep Roundup: Longhorns top Bruins, 61-33, behind Glen’s 19 points

The Basalt Longhorns boys basketball team picked up a big nonconference win over the visiting Cedaredge Bruins on Tuesday, as junior forward Michael Glen paced the Longhorns to the 28-point win.

Glen scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting while ripping down nine rebounds and dishing out four assists for the Longhorns. Basalt improves to 8-2 overall (5-2 3A Western Slope League) on the season.

DEMONS FALL PREY TO TIGERS



Just five days after topping the Summit Tigers at home, 38-34, the Glenwood Springs Demons girls basketball team had a rough night, Tuesday, falling on the road, 67-32.

Sophomore forward Tatum Peterson led the charge at the offensive end of the floor for Glenwood, scoring a team-high 10 points. Junior guard Lauren Howell added eight points in the loss.



HORNING LEADS DEMONS OVER TIGERS

Glenwood senior guard Cameron Horning scored a game-high 26 points and added 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals as the Demons picked up a 72-57 win, Tuesday, over the Summit Tigers on the road.

Sophomore guards Aaron Smith and AJ Crowley scored 14 and 10 points respectively, while freshman guard Angel Garcia added 10 points.

The Demons improve to 9-6 (6-2 4A WSL) overall on the year.
