Prep slate gets back underway
After a week of spring break for most area prep athletes, the sports schedule gets rolling again this weekend, although most of it happens on the road.
The only home event scheduled for area teams this weekend is a doubleheader on Saturday at Basalt High School for the Longhorn baseball team. Class 3A Basalt faces Class 4A Battle Mountain with the first game starting at 11 a.m.
The Glenwood Springs Demons have two teams on the road Saturday. The track and field squad heads to Alamosa to compete in the Travis McKinley Invitational, while the boys swim team travels to Fort Collins for the Coaches Invitational.
In 3A track and field action, Roaring Fork and Basalt travel to the Hotchkiss Invitational on Saturday.
As always in the early spring, the events are weather permitting.
