OLATHE, Colorado ” Roaring Fork became the latest victim of Olathe’s stingy defense, suffering a 38-9 setback at the Pirates’ football home Friday night.
The Rams’ lone touchdown came courtesy of a trick play when quarterback Ryan Weimer tossed a backwards pass to receiver Dana Holley, who connected with Michael Black on a connection of more than 60 yards.
Through four games, Olathe’s defense has allowed a mere 18 points. The Pirates have scored 123.
The loss dropped Roaring Fork to 1-3 overall and to 0-1 in the 2A Western Slope League, while Olathe is unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league.
PARACHUTE, Colorado ” Grand Valley got back on the winning track after a loss at Hayden last week, thumping visiting Gunnison 42-0 in Friday’s 2A WSL opener.
The win improved the Cardinals’ record to 3-1 overall for the season, while Gunnison plummeted to 0-4.
