Glenwood soccer tops Durango 2-1

The Glenwood Springs Demons soccer team beat the Durango Demons 2-1 in Glenwood on Friday. Glenwood opened the scoring with a first half goal by Alan Videla. Angel Bernal put the home team up 2-0 with a goal in the second half that was assisted by Jack Rheinhold.

Durango scored its only goal with about five minutes left in the game.

Glenwood keeper Carlos Guardado had five saves in the game.

“We played a real solid game, and controlled possession most of the night,” Glenwood Head Coach Wayne Smith said. “It’s a big win for us playing against a solid team starting off the season. Great start to the season for us.”
