Q&A with Demon football player Bennett Nicola
Year in school: Senior.Positions: Wide receiver/safety.How long have you been playing football? Ive been playing ever since third grade, every year all through elementary school and middle school.What do you like best about football? Just the team aspect of it, how close everybody is and, of course, the hitting. Its different than any other game out there.Whos your favorite football player? That would probably be John Lynch. Hes a great player. He can hit and all that.Whats your favorite pro sports team? I dont watch much professional, but the Broncos. Im a Nebraska fan. I watch a lot of college.What do you like best about your team? We all get along. Theres no bickering or fighting at all. Everyone gives it their best. Were a close, bonded team.Do you play any other sports? Basketball. I did baseball last year and track my freshman and sophomore year. Im a little undecided this year, but basketball for sure.Which sport is your favorite? Football.Whats your favorite non-sports thing to do? I love going to Lake Powell. Me and my family like to go there. I love wakeboarding down there. Being at the lake is probably my favorite thing to do.What do you like best about Colorado? Theres a lot of stuff to do. In the summertime you can mountain bike and hike. In the wintertime theres skiing and all that.Do you have a best friend on the football team? You can say more than one. Probably the whole senior class. Im really close with all those guys. Were all close friends.Whats your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving. You get to eat a lot.Whats your favorite Thanksgiving food? Pumpkin pie.Whats your favorite sports movie? Friday Night Lights.Whats your favorite sports video game? NCAA 2009 Football.Whats your favorite subject in school? Probably biology.Do you know what you want to study in college? I want to try to go to Hawaii and study marine biology.
