Rain postpones Class 4A Dist. 8 softball tournament

Rain postponed the Class 4A District 8 softball tournament in Montrose on Saturday, delaying play until Monday.Rifle, originally scheduled to play Delta at 9:30 a.m., is now scheduled to play the Panthers on Monday morning in Montrose. If bad weather persists on Monday, the tournament may be relocated to Grand Junction.Rifle will be gunning for one of the top two spots in the six team tournament, thereby securing a berth in the regional tournament. The Bears will have to win three games, including one against Southwestern League Champion Montezuma-Cortez in the second round, to advance to the title game of the single-elimination district tournament.
