Rain wipes out Uphill Challenge

The YouthZone Uphill Challenge scheduled for today has been canceled due to weather. The route, which included the dirt road up Transfer Trail, was in bad shape after showers throughout the day on Friday and event organizers thought it would get worse through the night. “There is no way bikes could have made it up there,” said Patty Schaffner, one of the event’s organizers. “There’s no way walkers with strollers could make it. If everybody can’t do it, we don’t want to do it.”Schaffner was unsure if the event would be rescheduled, but didn’t think it could happen.Event staff will still be at Two Rivers Park this morning to tell participants the race has been canceled.
