CARBONDALE, Colo. The Roaring Fork boys basketball team shut down Coal Ridge with tough defense in a 57-26 Class 3A Western Slope League win on Friday in Carbondale.

The Rams’ passing on offense also helped lead to Roaring Fork’s ninth straight win.

“We had 24 assists as a team, so I thought we spread the ball around very well,” Roaring Fork head coach Roger Walters said.

Coal Ridge head coach Mike Cox knows that despite a loss, his team should learn a lot from playing the defending league champ.”It’s a privilege to play a team like Roaring Fork with a great reputation and great players and a great coach. Hopefully all of us, the players and the coaching staff, will learn from it,” he said.
