Rams nab No. 2 spot in league
By sweeping Cedaredge in a doubleheader on Saturday, the Roaring Fork baseball team locked a No. 2 seed entering Tuesday’s first round of the Class 3A Western Slope League Tournament.Jake Bowman led the Rams on the mound and at the plate in the 10-0 game one victory over the Bruins by pitching the complete-game win and smacking a home run.In game two, Jake Kinney and Kyle Raaflaub combined for the win as Roaring Fork downed Cedaredge 8-4.The wins left Roaring Fork with a 7-5 WSL record and an 8-8 overall mark. The Rams finished second to Olathe who finished with an 11-1 WSL and 14-4 regular-season record. Roaring Fork will now host Cedaredge (4-8 WSL, 4-12 overall) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. If the Rams win, they will advance to the WSL semifinals against the winner of Tuesday’s Basalt-Aspen game at 8 a.m. Saturday in Paonia. The title game will be played at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, also in Paonia. If Olathe falls in the second round, the title game will be at 1 p.m.
