Region represents well on 3A boys soccer all-conference team

The Coal Ridge Titans, Rifle Bears, Grand Valley Cardinals, Basalt Longhorns and Roaring Fork Rams were all well-represented on the 3A Western Slope League All-Conference and Honorable Mention teams released recently.

While Vail Mountain had the coach of the year and the player of the year thanks to winning the league title, the Longhorns had four members of their team named to the All-Conference team.

Mathew Anderson, Pedro Rivera, Javier De La Cruz and William Cabrera represented Basalt.

For the Coal Ridge Titans, who made a run to the semifinals in the state playoffs this year, Miguel Navarro, Ray Bencomo and Sergio Valentin were named to the All-Conference team.

Aaron Palomera (Roaring Fork), Jesus Raygoza (Grand Valley) and Elijah Haywood (Rifle) rounded out the local 3A members of the All-Conference team.

Named honorable mentions for their efforts throughout the 2015 season were Pablo Rivera (Basalt) Caleb Rewinkle (Basalt), Roman Plano (Coal Ridge), Julian Huerta (Coal Ridge), Gustavo Oliva (Roaring Fork), Alex Palomera (Roaring Fork), Alexis Ramos (Rifle) and Cristian Vicencio (Grand Valley).
