Rifle doubles up Cortez

Rifle won its third game in as many chances this season, topping Cortez 32-16 in Rifle on Friday.

The game was the Class 3A Western Slope prep football opener for the Bears, who are undefeated heading into a rivalry match-up with Glenwood, who’s also 3-0 next week.

In other WSL action on Friday, Steamboat Springs beat Eagle Valley, 34-27.
