Rifle rallies to nip Moffat County 3-2

Rifle came from behind with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Moffat County 3-2 Tuesday night in a key 4A Western Slope League baseball game.

With the Bears trailing 2-1, Blake Barth drove in two runs with a double in the sixth inning. He added a diving play in the field in the top of the seventh to preserve the Rifle win at Gordon Cooper Field.

Jason Enewold of Rifle pitched the complete-game victory, striking out 12. He allowed only one earned run in seven innings.

He also gave the Bears their first lead of the game when he homered in the bottom of the fourth to break a scoreless tie.

Rifle improved to 3-1 in the Western Slope League with the Tuesday night win. The Bears are 5-2 overall. They will play at Battle Mountain on Saturday.
