EAGLE-VAIL – Rifle limited Battle Mountain to no more than nine points in each of four quarters of play in a 53-27 win here Saturday.
Rifle held an uneasy 18-13 lead at the half before breaking loose after intermission.
The Bears clicked for 18 third-quarter points, and Rifle’s lead was never threatened.
Wagstrom led the Bears with 13 points while pulling down 12 rebounds. Gavito grabbed a team-high 15 boards and scored 10 points.

CARBONDALE – Sparked by Dan Markoya’s season-high 27 points, the Rams were well on the way to securing their 74-49 victory over Gunnison by halftime.
Carrying a 13-point lead into the first quarter, Roaring Fork had taken a 43-21 lead at halftime.
Jake Boyle added 11 points, which came mostly on 3-pointers. Aaron Markham finished with 10.
