Rifle soccer falls to Battle Mountain

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado ” First-half goals by Lizzie Seibert and Kayla Telles proved too much for Rifle’s girls soccer team to overcome in a Thursday trip to Battle Mountain. Despite holding the host Huskies scoreless in the second half, the Bears lost 2-0.

“They scored two quick goals in the first half,” Rifle coach Jennifer DeHamer said. “In the second half, we held them. We played pretty good.”

Crystal Clemons played goalkeeper the first half for the Bears before being spelled by Jinna Harper in the second half.

“They both did really well,” DeHamer said. “They’re coming along.”

Rifle fell to 3-2-0 overall, while Battle Mountain improved to 4-3-0.
