The Roaring Fork High School girls basketball team won 54-39 over Basalt Wednesday night at the BHS gymnasium to improve to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the 3A Western Slope League.

Basalt fell to 6-9 after its fifth straight loss and 1-6 in the league.

The Basalt boys team won for just the third time this season, beating visiting Roaring Fork 54-42 in the rescheduled affair after last Friday’s games were called due to a snowstorm.

Both boys teams stand at 3-14 overall and 2-5 in league, with the season down to the final two weeks.

The Roaring Fork boys and girls close out the season at Cedaredge on Friday night before returning home to face Coal Ridge Tuesday, and then concluding on the road at Grand Valley next Thursday.
