Roaring Fork High School posts fourth-place finish at Montrose

MONTROSE -The Roaring Fork High School golf team tied for fourth-place Thursday at the Montrose Invitational, while Glenwood Springs placed eighth.

Grand Junction won the event with a team score of 219, followed by Palisade (224), and Grand Junction Central (228). Glenwood Springs finished with 236.

“We’ve got four guys who can go into the 70s, it’s just a matter of getting them all to do it at the same time,” Glenwood coach Norm Bolitho said.

Andy Buchholz was the only Demons player in the 70s on Thursday, with a round of 76 on the par-70 Montrose Golf Course. Roaring Fork’s Chris Webster had the low round for local athletes, carding a 73 for fourth place. Grand Junction’s Dane Hamilton won the individual title with 70, followed by Willy Edwards of Palisade one stroke back and Montrose’s Chris Lundberg with a 72.

Other Glenwood scores were: Sean Flohr, 80; Jesse Hansen, 80; Jacob Ziemann, 84; and Matt McAdow, 91.

No additional Roaring Fork scores were made available to the Post Independent.
