Roaring Fork spikers get all-conference nod

Four area volleyball players were named to the Class 3A All-Western Slope League first team in a recent vote by the league’s coaches.

Roaring Fork seniors Brie Bath and Alyson Romanus and sophomore Carly Velasquez earned first-team honors along with Lauren Redfern of Basalt.

Eagle Valley had the most players on the 18-member first team with four. Aspen had three representatives, Cedaredge, Hotchkiss, and Gunnison had two selectees each.

The Rams’ Jessie Rochel earned honorable mention as did Amanda Schmitt of Basalt.
