Scrimmage, chance to meet the pros slated Friday morning

Although the Roaring Fork Sports Foundation Kickoff Classic golf tournament is full, aspiring area athletes will have the opportunity to get some first-hand instruction from the pros on Friday morning.

The contingent of former University of Colorado and current and former NFL players will be on hand Friday at 9 a.m. at Roaring Fork High School for a seven-on-seven scrimmage between Roaring Fork and Glenwood Springs players, according to Roaring Fork head coach Tory Jensen.

“It’s kind of a little social gathering and a chance to meet these guys and see them coaching and giving words of wisdom,” Jensen said. “It’s really a special moment and they are some of the nicest people on the planet.”

“The idea is to get the kids out there and run around a little bit, and it’s a chance for the guys who play in the NFL to meet the kids.”

The event is free and open to the public.
