Skateboard contest set for June 22

A skateboarding contest will be held June 22 in Basalt, cosponsored by the Basalt Recreation Department and Powder Cowboy Production Co.

The event will be held at the Basalt Skate Park.

Registration will run from 9-10:30 a.m. on June 22. The contest will follow at 11 a.m.

The event is open to intermediate and advanced categories.

A $250 cash purse will be offered to the advanced champion.

Entry fee is $12 for intermediates; $20 for advanced.

The event is open to all ages. Helmets are required.

The event will be staged by Powder Cowboy Production Co., the same folks who staged “The Line” snowboard contests at Sunlight Mountain Resort last winter.
