Youth soccer players, ages 8-15 can experience the National Soccer Association’s teaching and coaching philosophy locally at an NSA-sanctioned commuter camp at Gates Soccer Park later this month. The four-day camp from June 27-30 features a three-hour training session from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by a lunch break, then two additional hours of training from 1:30-3:30 p.m. daily.Several coaches from the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club, including director Brad Jordan and assistant Andre Du Bois, will be on site.”The ratio will be about one 1 coach to 10 players,” Jordan said. “We don’t do a lot of drills, instead we do lots of training involving small games. The camp is oriented in keeping the kids moving.”Cost of the camp is $200. Registrations can be made online at more information, contact Jordan at 947-1809 or Sheryl Johnson at 876-0632.
