Sports Briefs: Basalt Half Marathon, charity golf tourneys coming in June

Basalt Half Marathon slated

The 44th Basalt Half Marathon and relay is scheduled to take place Sunday, June 6.

The race takes place on the Fryingpan River Road from the base of Ruedi Reservoir descending to the town of Basalt. Online registration is available at basalthalfmarathon.com.

All proceeds go to benefit the Basalt High School cross country running team.



YouthZone charity golf tournament

YouthZone presents its charity scramble-format golf tournament, starting at 1:30 p.m. June 4 at Lakota Links Golf Course in New Castle.

The event includes prizes for men’s and ladies longest drive and closest to the pin, plus a hole-in-one contest for the chance to win a 2021 Honda.



Proceeds are to benefit YouthZone’s prevention, intervention, restorative justice, counseling and parenting programs.

Golf tourney for Carbondale Arts

Carbondale Arts presents its fundraiser Golden Putter Golf Tournament for the Arts on Saturday, June 19, at River Valley Ranch.

The tournament runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features an 18-hole, scramble format. There will also be arts-themed holes.

Proceeds are to benefit the Rosybelle mobile maker bus and arts education programs. Register at carbondalearts.com.
