Glenwood Springs Soccer Club registrations openThe Glenwood Springs Soccer Club is taking registrations for the spring soccer season. The season runs from mid-March through the end of May and is open to ages 8 and older. The fee is $60, and the registration deadline is Jan. 15. A program for children ages 4-7 is also available. It runs four consecutive Fridays starting April 15, and the cost is $35. Registration forms are available at the Glenwood Springs Library.Information: 945-6091.Dunkin’ Demons, Rampaging Rams hoops programs start this monthThe Carbondale Recreation Department youth basketball programs start this month.The Dunkin’ Demons, for third- and fourth-graders, starts Monday and runs through Feb. 24. For boys, the program meets weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 5-6 p.m. at The Carbondale Elementary School. Girls meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.The Rampaging Rams is open to fifth- and sixth-graders and runs from Jan. 24 through March 10. Boys practice days are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m., while girls meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.The cost is $30. Coaches are also still needed.Information and registration: 704-4116.Women’s open gym basketball in CarbondaleThe Carbondale Recreation Department offers open gym basketball for women beginning Sunday. The drop-in session runs from 6-9 p.m. each Sunday at the Carbondale Middle School, and the fee is $5 per session.Information: 704-4115.Hartmann paces Sunlight skiers at Crested Butte giant slalomKevin Hartmann posted a pair of top-5 finishes for the Sunlight Ski Team at last weekend’s USSA giant slalom event in Crested Butte.Hartmann was fourth in the morning J4 GS and improved to third in the afternoon race. Nicholas Fetchik had a solid afternoon run, placing 10th.In the girls J3 race, Sunlight’s Sydney Schachter finished eighth in both races. Courtney Mitchell had the biggest improvement of the day in the girls J4.
