Women’s triathlon training group to meet

An informational meeting about the Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Training Group will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Hot Springs Athletic Club, in the upper aerobics room.

This season’s triathlon class will meet for 13 weeks beginning May 1.

The class is limited to 25 participants.

The class is open to women ages 15 and older. Limited scholarships are available.

Gap Opener set at Rifle Creek

The 2002 Gap Opener two-player tournament will be held at Rifle Creek Golf Course n May 4-5.

Entry fee is $130 per team.

Ranch at Roaring Fork course open

The Ranch at Roaring Fork public golf course is open.

The par-3 course along Highway 82 just outside Carbondale, is open for the season.

The nine-hole course features fees of $12 for adults and $10 for juniors and seniors.

The course is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with spring hours.

Softball tournament season opens

The slowpitch softball tournament season is here.

Triple Crown Sports, based in Glenwood Springs, will sponsor a full array of adult softball tournaments and youth baseball tournaments again this summer.

And the softball events will kick off with the annual Spring Fling Triple Crown Tournament in Delta on April 27-28.

The tourney is open to men’s E, coed and women’s teams. Entry fee is $210.

Glenwood Ladies to play April 27

The first meeting of the Thursday group of the Glenwood Ladies will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Glenwood Springs Golf Club in West Glenwood.

The day will begin with 8:30 a.m. registration and a 9 a.m. shotgun scramble (nine holes).

Lunch and a meeting will follow.

Carbondale adult softball meeting April 17

An organizational captains meeting for Carbondale softball will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Carbondale Town Hall.

The Carbondale Coed League will play on Monday nights and the Carbondale Men’s League will play on Tuesday nights.
