State fishing champs

Roaring Fork High School senior-to-be Josey Morford and 2017 graduate Alec Sloan took the High School State Fishing Championship earlier this month at Lake Pueblo. They weighed a 5 fish limit of 12.04 pounds, beating the second place team by nearly 3 pounds. This is their second year at the state tournament, sponsored by Pepper Custom Baits of Grand Junction. Morford will be going back again next year, while Sloan is attending CSU in the fall where he hopes to be on the fishing team. Morford and Sloan will be representing Colorado in the Western Conference Regional later on in the year.
